Default voltage and charging

Hey everyone, as of this christmas I am driving a used Traxxas Stampede. When i got it my uncle explained that im going to need a new charger, the charger he gave me was a AC/DC Digital Peak Charger by AstroFlightInc. model 115D, it's an old charger and it doesnt read the maximum battery level properly and only charges for a few minutes. He also got me a new battery, the Nuclear power 6 Cell, the batteries inside say enrichpower Ni-MH Rechargable 1800mAh. Also i found an old charger of mine that im using now, its a "4 hour quick charger" 9.6 Ni-CD, though ive only ever charged it for an hour at most. Is it safe to use this charger for the full 4 hours, is it safe at all? if not, whats a cheap charger i could look into?

vonclod, is it the X-Charger that your thinking of?

I have one & The shop uses them.
They are very versatile, they have a built in balancer for LiPo but need an external power supply, which CRC also sells.

The best person to talk to for the batteries is Joeseph (npWave) @ CRC.

Best bet is to buy a newer charger that will charge up your batteries properly.

Chargers start at around $39.99 and go up from there depending on the features and charging rate.

Yea... Don't use a NiCAD charger for NiMH packs... Unless it's for both, bad idea... And it's a 9.6V charger for a 7.2V pack... Another bad idea...

Brian and Joseph will hook ya up good... Tho' I'm surprised a 'Pede will run on a 2/3A pack without smoking or overheating something...
