Hi!
So we've got Terry and Ryan coming up...anyone else?
the track will be completely vacuumed for the next visit (75% done)
I'll have my trackmate timing gear going so just bring your own transponder
Planning a bit of a feed afterwards...i made Pulled Pork sandwiches for the last event and it turned out pretty fricken awesome (pat myself on the back)
Bueller?

Well it'll depend on my wife's work schedule, but I'll definitely do everything I can to make the drive.

true enough...
I've got 1 confirmed at my end and 2 solid possibles which makes 4 people (all using my cars of course:rolleyes:)) at my end.
Ryan, Terry(?) and Dave(?) makes 3 from the city.
7 racers is good but i thought we could have a go at getting a few more.
I've been over to rctech and it looks like there's a big 1/10th scale invitational race over in Victoria so it'll be hard to drum up any other hardcore rc'ers....

Even though I don't know my wife's schedule yet, I'm going to just say that I'm coming. If she works, I'll beg/borrow/bribe favours to get someone to watch my kids so I can come. And I look forward to driving this time. My SVT was made for roads like the Sea to Sky.
Derek you are definitely the 'host with the most' and it has been a pleasure each time to come race with you. I hope the 'leeches' you know don't kill the enjoyment for you.
And at least when us city folk show up, we have our own equipment.

One way or another, we'll get ya there!!!
Get ready for us Derek.
Oh, looks like the chance of rain is around 20% for Sunday.
Hopefully that changes.

My house is not on google maps yet(dunno why) so here are the directions to the non-rain venue:
The first lights you reach when you get to the first "Welcome to Whistler" sign is Function Junction...
1.Turn right at the first set of lights into Whistler.
2. Follow the road along until you cross a bridge over the Cheakamus River.
3. As you drive along this road, you'll take the second left hand turn onto an uphill road called "Mt. Fee Road"
4. Follow it to the top end where it stops. There will be a gravel parking lot in front and the road turns right...turn right there.
5. The immediate left hand turn is 1380 Cloudburst Dr and I'll be up there at the top of the driveway. There will be some visitor parking
The underground venue is the same as last time:
1. Drive through two sets of lights to reach "Whistler Creekside" at the third set of lights.
2. Turn right at the lights and follow the road around past "The Legends" on your right hand side.
3. There will be an above ground parking entrance on your left and as you continue the underground entrance is just past that on the left.
4. Enter and turn right to find the corner i set up in.
Fingers crossed for the outdoor venue.

Again it was a pleasure to GTg with like minded Z'ers.
I do have new rules for next time though:
1. I cant have any broken electronics on cars:rolleyes:
2. Terry has to bring another truck so Cove (my neighbors kid) can slobber over it again
3. Dave has to share his setup (including tires!) so i can start feeling good again about my mini-z skill. I think if i had a chance to at least match his grip level i'd at least have something else to complain about.
good times guys...race results will get posted soon.

Examined my cars that fried:
The AD band car had the negative power lead pinched under the negative motor terminal and created a short. New fets for that one soon.
The MR03 that suddenly died shows all 4 fets are overloaded. My guess is a dragging screw at the motor pod overworked the motor and therefore drew too many amps for the board to handle. New fets for that guy...it's the same one I fixed for the meltdown last time so hopefully it'll be fine after a second Fet swap.

Was the factory PTC (thermal fuse) removed from the MR03 ?

Ugh, that blows!
Quite litterally!
Hopefully you can get them back up and running soon with little to no issues.

MR03 is fixed and had to swap the AD board for another (more powerful one) because the super heated fet seems to have lifted a pad contact during the meltdown.
Some research to backtrace the pad on the board and a jumper wire will be usede...in the meantime the AD is running again.:)

What an awesome awesome awesome day!!!
All those awesomes are because we had an awesome host, there was awesome weather, and the track was an awesome setup. I can't wait to do it again.
Although I don't know about one of the new rules. I think if Derek doesn't fry some of his better cars he'll just beat us all. Clearly his best car fried, that's why he wasn't beating us all on his own track.
I have no secrets. Tires are Kyosho 20 in the rear and PN something in the front. See....nothing to hide here.
