Well, I picked up one of these lil' guys for my youngest daughter (10) for her birthday.
I had bought one of those really cheap $30 dollar jobbies from the mall and it broke a few times, I was able to semi fix it, but it eventually broke beyond repair as it was just so unstable and didn't really fly well.
What buying the cheaper one did was at least show me she did have an interest in the hobby. Although, at a small cost. But it's better than shelling out $100 and have her just forget about it a few days later.
I ended up getting the Blade mCX S300 for her.
We ended up going through at least 5 batteries before her older sister (12) wanted to try it.
She then proptmtly flew it into the ceiling and many walls and eventually snapped the tail clean off at the mounting point. =/
I'll do what I can to glue it today and we shall continue on from there.
The great thing about this lil' guy is, you can buy parts for it!!!
Anyhoo. She's been asking me to fix it for the last few days so I will try today.
Anyone that has an interest in starting in the heli flight hobby should start out with this one.
It's VERY stable, I was able to get it to hover and walk away from the control stick for like 10-15 seconds before I had to adjust it. =)
Anyhoo.. Buy one! It's a tonne of fun.
I can't wait till we get better and move on up the chain!
