Hey all.
I am wanting to meet up with other local R/C'ers.
I'd love to setup or have someone help setup a bash & greet meet.
I've always been one to wanna organize meets etc...
All the different R/C classes & sizes are welcome! Car, Truck, Buggy, Truggy, Heli, Plane...
Just when & where is what alludes me.
There are a few parks nearby etc. & or a nice large parking lot over at Guildford Mall.
As for when, we should do it soon as weather is turning for the worse.
Most likely a Weekday Evening or Weekend. Maybe an upcoming Holiday (Perhaps the shop could open during the event :D )
(Sundays work best as I start a part time job on Saturdays soon, but I could possibly get the day off with enough notice)
I'd like to give plenty of warning.
And I guess somewhere near the store so peeps can visit & browse etc.
& if ya break anything or wanna upgrade anything, it's nice & easy!
If your interested in it or helping with it, please reply to this thread so I can see what kind of interest there is.

Come on everyone, Chime in!
Maybe if we get enough people interested we can organize a small draw/lottery and Brian & Joseph can award the winner somehow.
Maybe a Gift Cert or something.. Let's get people involved in the R/C community.

I think hosting another small comp at the store would be fun. (not sure who all on here crawls but yeah)

I cannot fathom that all of you are so introverted that you don't wish to meet up and have some fun with your fellow hobbyists!
We gotta get something together before the weather gets any/much worse!
We can for sure include a Rock Crawling comp in too.
Seeing it's gunna be in the mall parking lot most likely, Heli's and Planes should have plenty of room as well.
We just need people to say they are interested.
I personally am looking forward to making new friends that share in the same hobby as me and live close by.
Take some time and either reply here in the forum, or PM me.

We, well, used to do this on a regular basis on another forum but that seems to've petered out for some reason that I can't get... Tho' I have an idea...
We used to go to Kwantlen Park here in Surrey... Lots of ppl would attend... I think 'cos we moved it this past year was the big flop....
Kwantlen Park is a good place... LOTS of room to fly... LOTS of room to let something unwind... LOTS of room on grass... Even a dirt track in the back bush...

If y'all wanna try it, I'm down... I can post up a how to get there map for Kwantlen Park... EASY peasy, nice n easy to get to...
Or mebbe we should wait 'til it warms up again?

I really wanna try and get one setup ASAP before it starts getting any colder.
We just need the peeps to reply that they will come!
I like the Guildford Mall Parking lot idea personally, it's BIG and usually quite empty on the end nearest the shop.
But, that's just MY personal preference.
If others rather KP, then lets do it!!
Yea ok... The mall WOULD be a good place... However, planes and heli's would be out of luck there unless they're REALLY small.. Too close to major traffic and ppl, IMHO, for that...
On-road stuff and some off-road would do good there, as well... But a lot of off-road guys won't run on pavement as the tires wear rather quickly...
At KP there's a big parking lot, usually 10% full, a HUGE grassy area for off-road guys and a small-ish track as well with dirt and jumps and a gravel field or 2 for the guys who wanna fly that's quite a way away fro public and traffic...
Tho' I don't think there's enuff users here to really make it a big one... This would have to be posted in other places...
The meet we had in '08 was biggest but '07 was best...

That works... Or January... That'd be perfect, in fact... Mebbe put up some kinda gazebo outside in the lot tho', 'cos, I can see a large influx of ppl and it getting rather cramped inside rather quickly... hehe
Before Feb would be ideal... We plan on movin' Feb/Mar...

I think the meet and greet is a great idea.Looking at the other posts december , january, febuary is really a bad time.If you all know bc thats when usually when the snow comes .The best time for the meet and greet is aound march april.The weather starts to get better around then.
Ilso i think that if we do a meet and greet it should be at a place like bear creak, because that park has a little bit for everyone. it has a open field near the trak and main park area for the flyer's, has trails all over for the 4x4'ers and a bit of a pond for the boater's.There is bench's so we can have a bar b q thing while we are all there,etc,etc
